When my DH got to work today, his boss was changing the locks. He said that 3 deposits from the last week have gone missing, and they are all DH's. DH has been working at this store for 3 years, managing for 2. He has worked holidays, double shifts, unpaid overtime. The owner flat out TOLD him that he doesn't believe DH is the thief, but he has to fire someone and all the missing deposits were his, so he's the one out of a job. Boss is all "so sorry, happy to give you great references, you were a good employee" I am so pissed! How do you fire someone you are certain is innocent? How much good is a reference going to do in this job market? Dh is laying on the couch completely depressed. he LOVED this job. It was as close to his ideal as he was ever going to find. Personally, I hope the store's money keeps disappearing as extra vindication, but I bet it stops, at least for a while.
Comments:
you need to go to the labour board with this one. There is no legitimate reason for firing. They will either get his job back for him or at least get him a severance package.
Texas is a no fault state, they can fire him just because they feel like it, as long as they didn't press charges....
Ugg we are going through something similar. My husband and some co workers were suspended for something that isn't even against policy. The company is trying to twist an existing policy to suit their needs. In the last week they did the same to 250 employees from this area.

I will pray for you mom...something similar happen to my hubby and we are suing the company. It couldn't have happen at a worst time to since we had just had our third child. Just reassure that he can do better and God has something better for him.
