Living in my 2 story house I was a wife to a hard working man and a mommy to 6
different children, (some mine, some not). I spent my days taxing, cleaning,
cooking, playing, intertaining and satisfying (if you know what I mean ;) anyways,
my sleep was vital to my survival! I never got to bed until past midnight due to my
duties. Every single morning without fail a Mockingbird would land on the tree right
outside my window and go off! At procisely 4 am in the morning. And YES I mean
go OFF! This bird sang in many monotones, high pitched then to low pitched, then to
medium pitched and back again. It made EVERY sound around our neighborhood, it
was a peacock, a bluebird, a siren, a horn, a hummingbird (sigh), a MOCKINGBIRD!
I HATED that bird! So, after a year...and after my husband tried evening after
evening to no prevail...I got out my teen sons high powered pelet gun, and well, I
SHOT THAT DARNED MOCKING BIRD! aaaawww....the peaceful sleep that came the
morning afterwards....Didn't last very long!
The guilt I felt for actually shooting a bird ate me alive for months that I couldn't
sleep!! DAMN THAT MOCKINGBIRD!!
