I did a journal post once on my son and his pooping problem. Since then we have visited the GI doctor a handful of times. There is no stopping it. I give this kid all the attention I can muster. I take him to storytime. I take him out to lunch. He still poops his pants. The doctor says that he is holding it in on purpose. I don't get it. Why can't he act out in other ways? I would much rather he would pee his pants than this.
The other day I took him to Dr Suess' birthday party. I took him to the bathroom three times in a hour and half. We still went home with him having a full load of poop in his pants.
I lost it in public. I had a mental breakdown. As I was using a entire travel size pack of wipes to clean my six year old's hiney for the thousandth time. I lost it.
The next day after him pooping his pants three times in three hours. I bought him diapers. He is wearing them. I cannot do this anymore. I have bribed him. I have bought him special cute underwear. I have praised him. I do everything the doctor says to do. What else could i do?
Well I did that too. I got him into a counselor.
I don't get why a child would choose to get made fun of at school for this. ( he does a lot) I don't get why a child can constantly reduce his mother to sobs when he does this. One time in public I even vomited from what he had in his pants.
I don't get why he would choose to do this. It is obvious it is behaviorial. When I made him put on the first pullup. He went potty on the toliet like three times.
That is more than what he did in a entire month
I suck as a mother. My son is metaphorically shitting on me. What did I do wrong?
Please help.......
Comments:
My SS4 does this to an extent. He refuses to poop at all. He gets himself so backed up that he pukes after eating. The GI specialist said that after doing this for so long they no longer feel the urge to poop. Continue with the pull ups if that will make him go on the potty rather then in his pants. There are 2-3 days a week that we have to puree all his food with prune juice in order to get him to poop. He has done the 2 home cleanse options and if he continues to refuse to poop he will have to have a tube shoved down his nose to totally clean him out.
