How are we SUPPOSED to DISCIPLINE OUR CHILDREN???

How are we SUPPOSED to disclipline our children??? When I was little I got my butt tore up... There were no if  ands or buts about it, if we didn't do right  we got a whooping and we knew it... I didn't know what time-out was.... Once I got older I would get grounded... Now days it is "WRONG" to whoop your kids butts and WHY because all the STUPID PEOPLE take a simple pop on the bottom to the EXTREME and leave marks or even KILL  there kids...SO because some STUPID people don't know how to keep there tempers under control now whoopings are WRONG... Whoopings cause kids to act out and get into trouble.... Atleast that is what i keep hearing... I honestly think it's the kids that DON'T get there BUTTS TORE UP are the ones that are the trouble makers... I knew better than to do HALF the CRAP these kids these days do... Look back 20 yrs ago and tell me how many SCHOOL SHOOTINGS were happening.. NOT very many... That's because that was still the time when WHOOPINGS were what got your childs attention and you know it...  If my child were about to run out in the road whether a vehicle is coming or not what am I supposed to do??? Put her in time-out??? I don't think so... I WOULD AND WILL (if she ever does run out in the road) WHOOP HER BUTT!!! So people need to stop and think before they AUTOMATICALLY think someone is ABUSING their kids to what is really going on.... You never know that butt whooping might have saved that kid from getting run over by that vehicle that could have been coming down that road...

So much has changed from back in the day.  Remember how back in my mothers time the whole neighborhood looked out for each others kids and if they were doing wrong your neighbor would go tell your mother and she would punish you.  Also the nuns use to hit the kids and the funny thing was the parents agreed with the nuns and it did seem the kids were more respectful back them maybe there is something to it!

According to CPS in TX it's not illegal to give your kid a spanking as long as you don't use anything other than your open hand and you don't leave marks. Some times for some things a kid needs a spanking. Other times a time out will work.

   Man- I remember so well about the Nuns! They didn't think twice about taking you to the bathroom for a spanking- "Sister Maria" Loved to smack our hands with her Thick Ruler! LOL I was Scared to Death of her!

I was actually called an abuser by a mom of a 4 month old and it was her first kid LOL.  My DD decided one day when she was with my mom and step dad that she was gona take off in the parking lot she got around to my step dads side and he popped her little butt for it....Guess what she hasn't done it since.  My Aunt on the other hand does not spank and her oldest runs all over her she is a rug.  The dad does spank and the kid listens to him.  Now what is abuse is when you walk into a bathroom to pee and you see this mom in ther with a 15 month old that is acting like all 15 months old do she punches him in the mouth kids lip is busted and he is crying his little head off.  The first thing out of my mouth was WTF are you doing?? she ran out of the bath room and store so fast she knew what she did was wrong.  That is abuse I should of punched her in the mouth just so she knew what it felt like.  nothing wrong with a pop on the rear when they are doing something that can hurt them.  What are you gonna do NO NO NO don't do that...Go to time out LOL  that is only going to work for so long then you are really in trouble.  I respect my dad I only ever had 3 spankings from him and that was enough for me   we are best friends now.  My mom never knew the right way to handle us so we ran all over her but get dad in the picture we were good as gold!!!
