Welcome to My Crazy Thoughts!!

Back in November, I had a seizure and was diagnosed with epilepsy a month later.  The reason I received the diagnosis was not because of the seizure I had in November, but because they discovered I have partial complex seizures...which are not the type that cause spasms.

Because of the diagnosis, my driver's license was suspended and I was put on a medication that is safe to take while breastfeeding (I have a 8 month old and a two year old).  I thought I might get my license fully restored, but since I am still having the partial seizures on my meds, the doctors recommended to the DMV that I don't drive yet.

Now, DH is telling me that he doesn't see any reason why I can't just drive to where I need to go, as long as its just a few minutes away...and to stop being so dramatic about everything.  He said that a diagnosis is just a word and nothing has changed, meaning he doesn't see why I can't just act like everything is normal.  I wish he would understand that there is clearly something wrong with me and support me on this instead of tell me that my diagnosis is screwing up his military career (not his exact words).

Aughh!  ok, its nice to vent

Tell your husband that most accidents happen w/ a few miles of home...you having a medical condition just ups the chance. Tell him that you WILL NOT put that chance on your kid's lives.

Good Luck momma! I will be praying for you!

it only takes one time for you to have a full blown seizure even on meds and if you are driving and if your kids are in the car he could lose all 3 of you.  You aren't being overdramatic you are being realistic.  So if someone is diabetic they shoudl still eat the same diet they were and not worry about their sugar levels too because it is just a diagnosis?  Nevermind the fact that it could put them in a coma and they could die?  sometimes it just takes putting something into perspective for others to make them realize that you are being safe and not sorry.  Good luck to you dear.
