I jokingly refer to my personal style of home decor as "Shabby Crackhead". Seriously, I own nothing that is remotely attractive, valuable or drenched in sentiment. Unfortunately, that's not what the home makeover people are looking for; they want the family who has an old pipe organ infested with raccoons in their living room, or folks who have a basement stuffed full of plastic-sheathed copies of TV Guide or people who collected thousands of Beanie Babies beause they really believed they would be able to buy an island off the proceeds some day. Basically, my crap isn't crappy enough and I'm far too eager for the wonderful and burly men and women of 1-800-JUNK to come and shag it all down to Hell's Sixth Circle (the Clutter Circle) where it so completely belongs for them to actually want to do it. So I've hung myself, free home makeover-wise, and sadly, I didn't even use one of those piano-keyboard ties to fashion the noose.
Comments:
I think we have a Shabby Crackhead couch. Or maybe it's just shabby now because SOMEONE (no names) keeps removing their Pull-Up and peing on it. Either way.
I love shabby crackhead. We had one of those couches. We offloaded it on someone else. I don't think my house is bad or good enough for one of those shows to come make over either.
I love it. I've just described my decorating style as Pack Rat, but that tends to carry that I get very attached to my things. They come in here and try to throw my stuff out? I'd be throwing them out by the ears.
lol. I'm the same way. I have no "Style". Hopefully when we get our house that will change. Lots of stuff we have now will be trashed.
