Easter will be upon us soon and after a discussion with my hubby I got wondering...At what age do you think it is appropriate to stop making baskets for your children?
My hubby thinks that we should not make baskets up for our girls who are 19 and 18 but still make one for our 12 yr old. I think we should make one for all 3 of them and I will. we also have a 21 yr old son, who no longer lives at home but he will not be getting anything although I would like to make a "community" basket for hubby and I and anyone who comes to visit.I know most of hubby's reasoning is financial (it will be very hard for us to do) but between all the doctor visits our oldest DD goes to fer her brain tumors and the stress level i our household dealing with her illness and our youngest son's ASD that we deserve a little something special once in a while. I wouldn't be able to buy a lot of stuff, just some peeps, jelly beans, and maybe a couple peanut butter cups...no chocolate rabbits they want way to much for the one's that actually don't taste like brown colored wax.
Do you think there should be a cut off age for Easter baskets?
Comments:
Hon, my parents still make me an easter basket and I'm 25. I dont eat sweets, but its the thought that counts... They always have one for each of us (my sister, her kids, my kids... myself) when we come over for easter dinner - and I believe she also makes one for my grandma (her mother) who is in her 70's. Go figure.
well my kids where young when we told them the truth. Its a Jesus thing not candy thing.BUT,they still get the baskets, candy etc we even hide it just for fun.But they knw the true meaning
