5 years ago I was pregnant with my oldest but didn't know it yet. 5 years ago today I turned 15. It's hard to believe that I am now 20 with a 4 year old and a 22 month old. It's been one hell of a ride. It's been the most wonderful experience in my life. I have cried, yelled, laughed and sometimes I have just stared blankly into the abyss of tiredness. I have learned so much and will continue to learn about the wonderful joys of motherhood. I was a teen mom for 5 years.

For 5 years I tried and succeeded in fighting the stereotypes against the typical teen mom. I know there are a lot of irresponsible teen moms out there that give us good ones a bad name. But don't let it get you down. Just know that in 20 years from now when your child is all grown and out on their own, you did your best and you beat all of those stupid stero types that were brought upon you. I am proud to be a young mother. I know I am doing the best for my children. I know I love them and I know they love me. I was one of the lucky ones though.

Their father loves me very much. We were even married 3 months before our first born was born. And having the father in their and mine life helps out a lot. But in the end I don't look at myself as a teen mom or a young mom, I just look at myself as a mother. And a damn good one at that. Being a mommy is tough. For anyone can carry a baby in their tummy for 9 months. But it takes a special person to carry their baby in their heart forever. For the title mommy is a special one!

So to all the mommy's out there kudos to you!! It may be the hardest job in the entire world but it sure is the most rewarding by far!!
