When I first married my husband we had the toilet paper conversation. Yes, we took the time to discuss which direction the paper should roll.
We came to the conclusion that the toilet paper should roll over. You don't accidentally roll too much. When you are sitting to make a stinky or as a woman it is easy to reach. If you are a man if you need to dab a dribble you have the option.
Now I am a mom and reality hit. It isn't over or under; it is will it EVEN make it ON the roller. Seriously, how hard is it to take the springy thing off and replaced the used roll?

Well, Rebecca, should you have a super-coiled, ready-for-action death spring like my holder came loaded with, replacing the TP becomes a battle. Unleash that thing in the wrong way and you could shatter a mirror or knock a light fixture out of the ceiling.
Apparently it is just as hard for my son to replace the toilet paper roll in his bathroom as it is for my husband to learn to aim in OUR bathroom.
I seriously cannot win.
LOL!! It must be really difficult for men...I've never met one who could change it without being asked! :-)
I guess I've lucked out, my husban knows how to replace the roll and does so without my realizing it. The kids on the other hand, well they're 4 and 2 so I guess I can cut them a little slack. It's not like I use their bathroom that often either. Of course there's nothing like hearing "Mother, I need more toilet paper" coming from my 4 year old.
Same problem at my house. Otherwise I never think how it's put on as long as its on !
I think you're very lucky to have run into that particular problem only after you had kids! I have yet to meet a guy who bothers doing that, heh.
Heck ours isn't even a springy it just has one side....slip the dang thing off.
But I guess it is easier to just throw it in the basket on the back of the toilet.
Would it surprise anyone if I said I'm obsessive about toilet paper? It has to go under, and I use both bathrooms regularly, just so I can keep an eye on the TP.
It's a sickness.
I compulsively will flip the roll around so that it hangs over in family members' houses. I confess.
