I had a Dr.'s appointment on Tuesday.
My appointment was at 4:30, I got there at 4:15.
The waiting room was PACKED, I only got a seat because someone got up for me. I didn't get into the exam room until after 6 pm!
When the
Anyway ... I was in there, on the exam table, with no back support and my legs just hanging there, ankles swelling by the minute, naked from the waist down for over a half an hour!
Eventually I got up, checked my phone for the time ... 7:10! Put my clothes back on and was heading out the door right when the Dr walked in.
It wasn't my Dr., I guess he is out of town. I told her I had to leave, I had been there for 3 hours and I had other kids to take care of. She LAUGHED, like I was being silly and said "I've had some really complicated appointments, that's life honey."
Excuse me?
Then as I was walking out the main entrance door to the office, the head nurse/receptionist (?) stopped me to tell me to call and schedule another appointment.
I said "Well, I've already been here for close to 3 hours, I've already done my waiting. Can I call and you can sign me in and I will be here when you need me?"
She laughed too ... "No honey, that's not how it works." LOL har har har. Again with 'the Dr. had complicated cases ... bla bla bla."
Ok, I get that. I said "Of course there are emergencies, I get that. But it was really inconsiderate to leave a 8 month pregnant woman, naked on the exam table with no back support for over a half an hour. Someone could have at LEAST come in and told me what was going on."
She had nothing to say to that.
UGH ... now I have to reschedule and I'm pissed because they all acted as if it was ME who was being rude or that I was over reacting.
My husband is capable of handling the kids but THREE hours for a Dr.'s appointment?!? I had an appointment, it wasn't like I went to the ER or something! If they were running that far behind schedule, then they needed to CLOSE their doors after a certain point or tell me when I first signed it that I may have to wait THREE hours to pee in a cup! You know? That's office mismanagement, that's not me over reacting ...
is it?
*Update*
I just called my insurance company and my group provider to issue an formal complaint against the Dr.'s office.
I can't change Dr.'s since my c-section is already scheduled for next month, but this way at least the insurance company knows what's going on. ... *shrug*
