Let me start by saying that I am not in any way athletically inclined. I am completely uncoordinated and can trip over a line painted in the road. For that reason I have always avoided exercise of any type what so ever. Occasionally we would go for a family walk and I walk a lot at work but nothing that would really make me break a sweat.
Last week I finally bit the exercise bullet and got my hands on a Wii fit plus with balance board. I like that I can do the exercises in the privacy in my own home without having to worry about others watching me make a total fool out of myself trying to do the various exercises. I know I look like a complete moron doing them, trust me, I have a large mirror I can see myself in and my family tends to gather in the room to giggle at my attempts to get myself in shape and I admit freely that I look pretty dang funny doing the ones I have tried.
Like when I attempt to hula hoop hee hee. I have very long hair, almost to my butt and didn't think the first time I tried the hula hoop one to tie back my hair. I wish I had a video to share with my friends because it was hysterical..my hair was flying all over the place and I was constantly throwing my head around to get it out of my face. My family was laughing so hard, I though a couple of them were going to pee themselves...as for me, I was laughing so hard I literally fell off the balance board.
You know what though? It was
fun!!!! I am up to 20 minutes on the free step aerobics, I have
absolutely no rhythm at all and can't follow the other aerobic ones yet
the side stepping throws me off big time.
Yesterday I managed 73 mines of exercise, today only 35.. my legs shake like jello when I try the balance and yoga exercises, my thighs are starting to feel tight from use and are protesting a bit today but I am determined to get into a shape other than round.

Wanna know a cheat to the side step. Don't step to the side. just take that foot off the balance board when it tells you to. i've tryed the whole side steping thing and always fall off the balance board. you should also try the parade one. i love that because you march in place and move your arms. its really great. i love my wii fit.
I am still negotiating with Mo to get her to let me use my Wii Fit Plus.....she is a Wii hog...I am making it my resolution to get fit in 2010! We will support each other in our efforts and try not to laugh too hard when one of us fallsof the board!
