I've seen many posts about this and decided to share my thoughts.
I do NOT want govt run healthcare. I think the whole situation is bad and I have VERY good reason to feel that way. When I was 5 yrs old I went to a military doctor for swollen lymphnods and each time I went they just kept pushing us away saying it was nothing and that it would go away. Now mind you my lymphnods would swell up so bad that they would stick out of my neck! For 5 years we would see one military doctor after another and not one would do anything. Finally we got a military doctor to refer us to a ear nose and throat specialist off post and the second the doctor saw me he knew that something was wrong. He did a biopsy and it turned out I had a form of luekemia. I shouldve been dead. I got lucky for 5 years it never spread but what if it did? This is why I do not want govt run healthcare. Yes I would love the system to change and become more affordable but I can't complain because I rather have medical bills up my ass and know I'm getting the best healthcare possible then have free or very cheap healthcare and just get pushed aside. Now yes it was military doctors I went to but that will be what our healthcare will turn into just with civilian doctors.
Dont get me wrong there needs to be a change, but it cannot be completely run by the govt. We'll loose what makes America great. People travel from all over the world to get our healthcare, do you want to loose that? I don't know. I take pleasure in knowing that I can go to the doctor and get the help I need. And I'm lower middle class, I can't afford healthcare unless its through a job.
You can agree or disagree with me, it doesnt matter. I just thought I'd share my story and just warn you all with what can come of this. I'm not a rare situation. There are MANY cases just like mine, MANY were not lucky like I was.
