Confessions, reflections and rants

No piece of furniture is safe when you have a toddler roaming the house.  My dining room chairs are no exception.  Logan had stained the white cushions so bad that no amount of scrubbing was helping.  After much disgust towards their appearance, I set out to bring the chairs to their former glory.

The project cost me a whopping $10.50 for the fabric, and $15 for a staple gun and staples.  The labor is a different story.  It took quite a bit of time and effort to remove the gazillion staples that the manufacturer used to hold the fabric in place.  I suspect that a heavier duty gun was used as the staples I applied didn't take quite as much effort to remove.

Except for the labor it was an easy project.  I simply unscrewed the cushions from the chair frame, removed the staples & fabric, applied the new fabric, sewed & applied the trim and reattached the cushion to the chair frame.

Great job momma!  The new fabric works very well with the chair and I think looks better than the original fabric even without the stains.  Definitely deserve a pat on the back for that one!

Wow Lorel, that is so beautiful!  I may have to attempt to copy you because Brody has pulled the same number on our dining room chairs.

I would love to help all of you redo your chairs.  If only you all lived closer we could make a party out of it.

For those who like the fabric, I found it online.  Click here.

That is a great job you did there, Lorel.  They are lovely.  I would have been tempted to take the easy way out and just covered over the old fabric instead of taking it all off.  I'm lazy like that.
