American Girl Doll vs Target Our Generation Doll

My daughters birthday is next week and she wants an American Girl Doll.  She will be 5, and I am not sure if I should spend that amount of money on a 5 year old.  She currently has 2 Target Our Generation Dolls and LOVES them.  My question is about their hair.  Does anyone know if the American Girl Dolls have the same problem with the hair getting all tangled and nappy looking?  Our, Our Generation Dolls hair has started to look really bad lately (she got one last year for her b-day and one for Christmas this year).  The hair gets tangled really bad and I have tried lots of things to get rid of the tangles without pulling all the hair out...I have washed it and then put the kids conditioner on it and brushed it and I have also used the detangler spray and then brushed and it looks great for a while and then looks "weird".  

I am seriously considering the American Girl Doll for her but not if it also has the same "hair issue".  If it does I will just buy her another Target doll.

Do you have an American Girl Doll and if so does yours have nappy hair issues?

Curious to know the answer to this one....Bella really wants one for her birthday in October & I have been trying to decide if I should spring for the American Girl Doll or do the Target one.
