March was horrid. Really rather horrid. No one died, but it was bad. It started out the first weekend of March when I was sick and went with some youth to Seattle for a conference. THAT was good and uplifting, cept the Key Arena has very steep seats and I hate high places in a nervousing way. My husband took the chance to dismantle the bath to fix the shower while we were gone (we expected it was a short fix...right!). And on that first Friday my 85 yr old FIL fell and lay on a basement cement floor for more than 15 min before being found. And Tony was taken from the training zone he was in to be put in a german mental health hospital.

The second weekend started on Wed. Our shower was still not working cuz my husband was torn between his paying job,  his parents house (where we showered every day), and our  house. I went to a scout training thing and on Sat found out that Tony was being sent to Ga where he would be in a mental health facility on an army base. My FIL was not very well and in and out of the local hospital.

The next weekend was spring break. We were going to have visitors, but my son's gf decided to go to GA instead of seeing us..and did not tell us. Thankfully, we found out on fb that she was headed for the east coast from Oregon. (was a bit annoyed, but kids will be kids I expect.) My FIL looked like he was not long for this world and we were kind of glad Tony was nearby instead of overseas. The bathroom shower was still not done, it was not a very pretty week for spring, and I was finally over my cold that I had had most of the month. The end of the week, our pastor convinced my MIL to take her husband back to ER and he was in the hospital there for a few days before being sent to a facilitiy in a nearby city. He is doing a lot better, but we dont' know when he'll be back home. He has heart trouble as well as type 2 diabetes, among other things! The bathroom finally got finished the 27th and it has been so NICE to have showers at our own house!

The last thing that happened in March was that Tony got engaged. This bothers me as both kids are 20 and I just can't see that they realse what life is all about yet. Then, again, even at 24 when I got married..our photos have a look of deer in the headlights about them!  Still don't know why Tony got transferred so fast and sometimes the information we get from him or his gf is skewed. He wants to stay in the army, but not be deployed into battle situations. I think his stint in Iraq as a Cav Scout was a tad more than he needed. He is a pretty sensitive kid and in HS was involved in a lot of fine arts activities. War is not fine arts. I hope he can change his mos and work on munitions as he loves taking guns apart and cleaning them so they work properly.

April is here and so far it is only the 5th and we have had snow and ice and hail. My spring flowers are confused, but bravely blooming anyway. I am feeling apathetic about this month. I have a lot to do with cub socut day camp and with the library program I am working on for the summer and a pirate party for the kids in our church. I wish I could live inside one of my favorite books where I knew what was going to happen.
