I was saddened and blessed all at the same time today.
My daughter brought over a few of her friends today to play, and mind you we are taking down a 25x 40 deck around an empty- except fo rhte leaves and gunk pool. So my backyard is a WRECK! But there is only so much we can get done in any given weekend.
So back on topic, my daughter has brought 3 of her friends over..... 2 of the 3 are part of a triplet pair. They walk into my home and say wow it is so messy, why don't you clean it? WTF?? was my first reaction, and then I said well I don't like to spend all my time cleaning, I'd rather play with my kids. SO one then replies...you really play with them?, and I responded well of course, it is way more fun than cleaning. ANd he said why don't you spend youtime cleaning, that is what parents are supposed to do.
That stuck me as sad. His parent must do nothing but keep the house clean, mine is lived in, the dishes are done and laundry is always going, or hanging on the line to dry. But I wouldn't eat off my floors and yes there is clutter everywhere..... like where do I put the stroller travel system for the new baby? And do I really get rid of all the hand me down baby boy clothes just in case this one is a boy?? nope so for now a years worth of baby clothes are living in my living room in a large box. And yes I vaccum AROUND it.
I see that I am blessed that I want to play instead of clean non stop, and sad for the little ones who's parents clena non stop.
PS it is no housework day right???

As long as your house isn't totally filthy then I see nothing wrong with it! I mean we do have kiddos to tend to and how sad that would be if we never visited with them or did anything but clean clean clean. Kids just really don't know until they become parents themselves.
OMG, I still cannot believe some of the things kids will say.. WOW.. my house sounds like yours right now its a mess basically because I have been spending my time in the garage getting that done ugh its a never ending story lol.. your right though its sad that their parents spend their time on things other then playing with their children :(
