Question: Do you feel more sympathy/empathy for children or for adults with mental illnesses? Do you believe that either group is responsible for their mental illnesses?

I am trying to finish up my Masters thesis and need some help from you ladies. My thesis is on stigmata of mental illness and ways to reduce it. However I had some unexpected results and now I am trying to find out how much sympathy people feel for children and adults with mental illnesses. Thanks for answering the poll.
