Over the last weekend our daughter played in a regional tournament and dear husband took his Nikon along and got the best shots.
(sidenote: there were several dads, with Nikons, and they wear nearly grunting as they compared the size of each others' lenses...boys! lol)
Our daughter was selected for a competitive soccer team this year, at age 9 and she is kicking some serious ass out there.
Her position is Keeper, aka Goalie. Yesterday, during one of the many games, I was approached by several parents and other adults because they wanted to talk about that daughter of ours.
Two of the moms actually told me about full scholarships and how she can "write her own ticket" based on her talent out there. I was BLOWN away.
This is our firstborn, so I have NO idea how this all works. I just know she enjoyed the game, so we encouraged this sport. Now, she is just amazing out there on the field and most importantly, SHE is really proud of herself. It's enough to make my heart nearly burst with love and pride.
Enjoy the pics!
Like a magnet...
Look at that face! She is 150% immersed in the moment here...
And back out it goes. She is relentless when protecting that goal.
That's her again, in the yellow keeper vest.
She even goes down while thwapping that ball back out to the field. NO FEAR.
Here she is in her black uniform. (there were several games yesterday, hence the various jerseys used.) Look at her getting in there!
Yeah, this is my ball.
This kid is super tough, and even sweet!
I am one proud parent!
