Jennifer's Journal

Blah, blah, blah....

Zoe and I have had a little game for a while that's kind of like "I've got your nose."  Only I grab her nose and swallow it.  She thinks it is funny and she'll grab my nose, my cheek, my hair... and pretend to gulp it down with a giggle.  Slightly disturbing, yes, but what isn't around here?

Today, Bill showed me what he discovered with her today.  He pinched her cheek and said "I got your cheek" and ran down the hall.  She chased after him yelling, "My cheek! Give me my cheek."  He tried to put it in his pocket... she wasn't having that either.  She fished it out of his pocket and smooshed it back on her face.  It was hilarious.  Not just the game itself, but that she is SO serious about it.

So, when she was on my lap earlier, I grabbed her nose and threw it down the hall.  She jumped off my lap in a huff, ran down the hall, picked it up and smooshed it back in place.  I did it again, and again she went to fetch her nose.  Once, her cheek apparently bounced off the wall and fell in the trash can and she came back all pouty.  (I have to tell her not to eat things out of the garbage on a daily basis, but God forbid her imaginary cheek end up there....)  So I had to search the couch cushions for a new cheek and smoosh it in place.

But if I eat her nose, that's still OK.  She gets all perturbed when I throw it across the room, but she can deal with that.  I just can't stick it in my pocket or throw it in the trash.  That just won't do.

Kids sure are fun.
