Nenna's Notes

Yeah, I totally went there.

There is no season I love more than spring.  After the dark, gloomy, cold, snowy months of winter, spring is like a rebirth.  The days are longer, the world turns green again, and I can stop obsessing about the snow and having to drive in it.  I can feel my spirits rise when I see the flowers start to poke through the dirt.  Sometimes it seems like spring arrives in the blink of an eye.  You go to bed one evening, and trees are still bare, the grass is still brown, and there are no flowers.  You wake up the next morning, and everything has changed!

These things make me happy, and they were all found in my very own yard:

But while I love spring, I don't think I'd like to live in it year round.  Each season has its own set of things I love about it, and I'd hate to miss out on them!  I wouldn't even give up winter, despite how much I hate snow.  There's something to be said for snuggling up with your sweetie, drinking hot cocoa, while the white stuff falls.  Besides, after winter comes the spring.  So I endure the snow, if only to get to the good stuff spring brings!

That crocus is bee-yoo-tiful!!! And what are the little purple flowers in your grass? They'd go well with the crocus I planted in my mother in law's yard.

I think they're wild violets, Briar.  We have a zillion of them in our yard.  And the great thing is that they're so low to the ground they don't get chopped when hubby mows the grass.  Unfortunately, they don't last very long, but they're so pretty while they're there!

I feel the same way. SO glad spring is finally here, though it's still cold in WA! There are trees blooming, flowers blooming, fresh local produce becoming more abundant. Love it! It's almost warm enough to throw open the windows and do some Spring cleaning!
