Tues. April 27th (6 days past my due date) I woke up at 8 a.m. to get my son ready for school and noticed some pains and just kinda ignored them until I got home at 9. I started timing them and they were exactly 5 minutes apart. I had an appt. to do an NST at 11 to make sure the baby wasn't stressing out cause they were going to induce me on Fri. if I didn't have her by then. When I got to my appt. I told the doctor I thought I was in labor and the pains were still 5 min. apart but they were getting a little stronger. He checked me and I was at 4 cm which was one more from the previous day so he sent me to be admitted to the hospital to have my baby instead of doing the nst test. I get checked in around 12p.m. and set up to be monitored, and straight off the bat I told them no IV and that we were going for a completely natural birth. After a few hours the contractions went from about 5 min. apart to 2-3 min. apart. At 5p.m. they checked me and I was 6 cm, doctor came in around 5:30 broke my water and then I went straight into transitional labor. about 45 min. later I had to push and in one push out came the head and the second push out came the shoulders. Even in transitional labor I remained perfectly calm and just let my body relax itself through the contractions. It made my labor so easy that way. Even the pushing wasn't bad cause I don't remember it burning. At 6:15 p.m. after about 10 hours of labor Natalie Lynn made her debut. She was 6lbs. 8oz. and 18in. Everything went so well that we were dishcarged a little early=) All 4 of her older brothers are completely in love with her...
