I am the mother of 2 wonderful kids.
My son is 10. He has autism. My daughter is 4. She does not.
What do I love about being a mom to these kids?
I love the smiles, the giggles, the loving bond my kids share with each other.
I love watching them grow and learn new things. The excitement in my daughter's eyes as she runs to me yelling, "Mommy! I wrote my name!" The proud look on my son's face as he shows me his report card.
I love sharing in the things they love. My daughter showing me how to dance like a ballerina. My son telling me the names and car numbers of every Nascar driver, past and present.
I love watching them ride their bikes in the driveway. I love curling up at bedtime to read a book or 2, or 3.
I love the challenges. Saying "NO" to a strong-willed 4-year old and making it stick. Feeling bad when I see my special-needs son say "Hello" to another child, with no response.
I love the interaction they have with their Daddy. I married the most amazing man and I love him so much.
I love protecting my kids. If I feel they have been wronged, I will say so.
I love the "I LOVE YOU'S." The kisses. The hugs.
I love how far they've come, and how far they will go.
I love that God has given me these children. I wouldn't change a thing about them. I love them more than life itself.
That's what I love about being a mom.
