I posted about this situation yesterday in one of the groups that I'm in but now I know for sure what is going on, and please heed the warning. My husband is away this week, so it has left me alone with our 3 kids. We took him to the airport early yesterday morning, and went back to bed after returning home. The noise of the kids being up woke me, so I got up and came downstairs. After a little while, I got on my laptop. I noticed in the browser history a couple of websites, cartoonnetwork.com and nick.com. These aren't websites I visit, and neither did my husband. (I called him just to be sure) My son cannot spell, so that left both of my daughters (10 yo and 8 yo).
I asked both of them and they both said not me (of course). They wanted to know how I knew. I changed the password on my laptop and thought I was good. When I got up this morning, I found someone had used the guest account on the laptop since they couldn't get into mine. So I closed it out and opened mine, and found a couple of emails from a website saying my child had registered with them. (It is a website for children, an online world where they can communicate with other kids, and it has parental controls). So again I asked both of my girls, and they both said not me. At this point I am begining to suspect my oldest. So I turn off the guest account and changed the password to my account again, and I made it extremely difficult.
I try logging into the website with the info from the emails, but I couldn't. My 8yo daughter sits down next to me and gives me the login information and password. She tells me it was my oldest doing it, and that my oldest knew my email address.
Now, we do let them online, but only with our permission and under our supervision. But I am the main user of the laptop, because my college is all online. I didn't think my daughter was at the stage to do something behind my back, and then do it again after she was questioned about it. I'm fortunate that this is a website for kids, because it could have been worse. So now I am left to punish her and I'm not sure yet what it will be.

And yet the 8 year old knew the login and password information...my rusty dectective skills is saying to look at the youngest again. Its not always but sometimes its the one you least suspect. I just bet that the 8 year old was in on it as well. Even if that means she was just standing by and watching because how else would she know all that?
