I was invited to attend a mom blogger event. I was very excited for this event because it was for something that I really needed and wanted. Cooper Monroe of The Motherhood organized a lovely gathering of some really sweet Pittsburgh mom bloggers to have their hair colored and styled at Divinity Salon in Aspinwall.
I'm not much for going places I don't know nor do I normally like to go places where I do not know anyone. I get a bit anxiety ridden. I also don't normally get to attend the mom blogger events because they usually conflict with Diva's softball or are in the evenings when my husband would be busy and I'm not paying $10/hr for a babysitter nor will I take them with me (unless it were a family focused event). Boy am I glad that this event fell on a Sunday and my grey hair and frizz was getting out of control that even husband was eager for me to go. I hadn't had my hair done since before Thanksgiving.
When I arrived at the salon there were already a bunch of women already there. I loved the red carpet treatment! I felt like such a star right off the bat. Not to mention but I was able to parallel park on the first try when I arrived - no small feat for me as I am so out of practice for that. I took it as a sign that good things were going to happen!
When I walked in though, the place was amazing. The colors, the textures and the general layout of the shop was so calming and yet exciting. They had just remodeled the shop and I have to say that they should be very very proud of themselves - it is gorgeous.
Meeting the owner's Donnie and Pam Vasey and the staff was the first order of business - after the Mimosas were served, of course. Then we were introduced to their leading sales rep for Alterna who explained their products to us. We were also enlightened on the new trends coming from California for hair color and some style tips by none other than Michael Shaun Corby, the Global Creative Director of Alterna! Would you believe that I am finally trendy with my red hair - it seems that is the new blonde in LA.
This is Pam and Donnie working some magic.
My stylist was Jodi Gatto. She is new to the salon but not new to hair styling. What a wonderful gal.
This is my "before" shot. This is one post where you will actually see me so get a good look - it won't happen again, promise.
The salon really put together a nice day for us.
There was a Tweet station. One of these days I guess I'll have to figure out what the whole Twitter thing is all about - I don't really get it. Maybe someone will have to explain it all to me.

There were even some lovely and delicious cheesecakes and biscotti. Yum!
Everyone was hustling this day.
And the moment you were waiting for - the big reveal! I wish I had someone take a picture of the back. This photo does not do the hairstyle justice. I really did look wonderful and it was so soft. My hair is never ever soft!
I'm thinking I need to make my next appointment now because once the word gets out appointments might be tough to get. Thank you Cooper and thank you Divinity Salon for allowing me to have such a wonderful time and to have such beautiful color and style.
