Helping others work from home

If you have started on your work from home search you may be confused and not know what to do...and if you haven't started and want to you may be afraid of being scammed. Both can happen very easily so hopefully this blog will help you in your search so that you can find the work at home option that is perfect for you!

Work at home Job:

With a work at home job you are an employee of a company. These jobs are typically call center type jobs, data entry, freelance writing etc. Usually you have a set pay, set hours, a boss to answer to and you typically don't make as much as if you were out in the workforce. Some of the call center type jobs will require a second land line and a background check so there may be some out of pocket costs for these types of things...but other than these there should be no other costs. Also these types of jobs may require no background noise at all (animals, children, etc.) so you may need a sitter if you have children.

An employer will absorb the costs for you to be hired: the cost for the person's time to interview you (often multiple interviews), the cost for all your paperwork, the cost for the people in HR to get all your user ID's, passwords, and other necessary items in order, etc. You should not have to pay for any of that, or generally any training. For the most part you will want to stick with companies that are known for hiring home workers as will be detailed in another blog.

You may find that finding a work at home job is extremely difficult and here is why: There are millions of Moms and Dads and even elderly ones that are looking for work at home jobs. The competition is fierce! So many people are looking to work at home and there just aren't enough jobs out there to make everyone happy. So if you are determined to find a home job, you need to be persistant as it may take a few years to get one. Some find work at home jobs much more quickly so it just depends on where you find yourself in the mix.

So if you are looking just to make a little bit to cover some extra expenses, just make a bit extra each month and are not looking to create financial freedom, then a work at home job may be what you want. Before you pay for anything, feel free to post in the group to get our opinions on what we think. Many of us who own our own home business have been around the block and can spot a scam when we see one!

Work at home Business:

A work at home business is pretty much the complete opposite of a work at home job. You have no boss as you are the boss, no set hours as you make your own hours, and there are usually start up costs. Think on if you were to go out and open up a Quizno's Sub Shop in your home town. I recently saw a commercial that stated you could start your own Quizno's for a DOWN PAYMENT of $12,500. Not only is that a down payment (so there is more to pay to start your own Quizno's franchise) but you also will have the cost of the lease space, utilities, pay your employees, etc. This overhead will be thousands a month not to mention thousands to start this busienss.

A home business still gives you the benefits of having your own business, but since it's in your home you don't have nearly as big of a start up cost and your monthly overhead is next to nothing when compared to businesses in your city. The start up cost can be as little as free, but likely there will be monthly overhead costs for websites, products, etc. Since you are your own boss, you decide when you get a pay raise (as in you work harder to get paid more), you decide your hours (so if you have kiddos at home you can work around your family), and you decide how you work your business. It's much more liberating and if you are tired of working for someone else to make their dreams come true and want to make your own come true, a home business is what you are looking for.

As opposed to a home job, there are unlimited opportunities that you can start TODAY. There are no waiting lists, maybes, or possibly's that you can start a home business. You can start a home business today and make your first check today with some companies and get it within a week...with others it may be your first month depending on how they pay.

A home business however does require consistancy, hard work, and dedication and you will not get rich quick (there is an execption but VERY FEW people including myself fall into this category). For 99.8% of people it will take at least a year or more often 5-10 years to create financial freedom, and again you have to be laser focused, consistant, and coachable.
