I have committed to running the Disney princess 1/2 marathon in 2012. Let me start by saying I am not a runner. Not even a little bit lol. But running is something I have always wanted to do. So at 30yrs old I have started running. I am doing the couch to 5k program http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml. The program starts you off walking 2 mins and then running 1 min for 20mins. each week you move up your running time a little, until you are running for a full 30 mins.If any week feels too hard you repeat the week until you feel like you can move to the next week. It is truly a life changing experience. Going from sitting on the couch to being a runner. Already my mood is better and I have more energy. After the 1st week I lost 2LBS with out even changing my diet. I look forward to my next chance to run. I think the running bug has bit me hard lolol. I will be running my 1st 5K on Aug 29 2010. I have to tell you, once I got up and started moving, I feel so empowered. It is ME vs ME . with those odds i will always win =). Even if i run slower than molasses in January I am still doing something I set out to do. I am conqueringmy own goals one step at a time and it feel GREAT!!!!!! Watch my tickers on my page to see my progress. One counts down to the Princess 1/2 and the other adds all my training miles up. I hope to "walk to the Magic Kingdom" before I run in the Princess 1/2. I am 980.5 miles away from the Magic Kingdom, that's a lot of walking and running. Please leave me comments I need the motivation. and if you would like to "walk to the magic kingdom" with me I would love the company.
