A practical list of things to do in nature with children

Go for a nature walk...

Bird watch

Go camping

Go fishing

Build a fort from sticks and leaves

make mud pies

Plant a garden or tree

explore habitats...(explore the waters edge, the forest floor, and nature prairies...make notes or take pictures!)

Make a leaf book! (collect leaves, find out the names of trees)

Go on a Bike ride at a forest  preserve

catch lighting bugs (remember to let them go before bed time!)
