Since Luke was laid off we've been worried about losing our house. Months of cutting corners and job hunting have been a seires of let downs with Luke first missing out on a job that he wanted, then me failing a physical on a job that would "make it all better" which, of course, left me without many prospects. Then, about two weeks ago, I picked up a news paper and started looking for anything that hadn't been posted on the local employment office website. Lucky for me I did, I found two jobs that I thought might be worth looking into. The first was a bust, they just weren't looking for what I was qualified for. The second, however, seemed like it might be a fun job if I could get it, so I applied, and was given an interview on the spot. Later that day I was called back for a second interview and so two days later I went in to speak with the Vet in charge (yes, it's a job at a vet's office). Later that same day, I was called to see if I would come in this week to see if I liked the idea of working there and if the rest of the staff would like working with me. I was nervous, of course, but the people working there were incredibly easy to get along with and just all around nice, by the end of the day I found myself hoping beyond hope that I would get the job just so I could work with them. So today I got one more call, I was hoping it would be good news, but I couldn't tell by the office manager's voice, UNTIL she said "I would like to offer you the posistion if this is something you would like to do." ......It took me half a second to say yes. So now, I will be going in tomorrow to train. Nice people, who will make awesome co-workers, lots of animals, and enough money to keep us in our house. This day will only get better if Luke comes home with a job, but if not, I'm perfectly fine with him being a stay at home dad for a while. What a great start to the day, I wake up to good coffee, Aoife goes down for a nap on her own, and I got the job....time for a happy dance.
