So it's been over 3wks now since his has happened to me. It all started one night at work. I was working on my closings and had already let my carhop go home and had my closing cook with me. I was just about to wrap it all up and head to the back to shut the lights off when all of a sudden we both hear this loud crashing sound. We look at each other thinking somethin behind us had fallen, cause that happens alot at work. Then would you know it, these two guys all dresses up in black hoodies and sweats and ski masks ( mind you it is like 90 outside at midnight) come running through the door screaming at us to get down, don't look at them, and to give them the money. Needless to say, I had just put the large sum night deposit into the safe. This safe is not an easy one to get opened. It's a combination safe and has taken managers up to a half an hour to get open before. One guy was a lookout guy and the other, who ws the leader, was the one that had a gun pointed to my head telling me to hurry up to get the money out of the safe. My first attempt wasn't succesful. So I was trying it again. Only this time he cocked the gun on me and started counting down from like 10 and was telling me to hurry. I was having, for my sanity, saying the combo out loud and how many times to a certain direction that i was going so he would know how many more numbers I had to go. The second guy, guess he was feeling a bit sorry for me, was saying for me to take my time. At that point I was kinda confused. Was I to hurry or to take my time? Well, I finally got it open, the guys got the money they wanted and were gone. Miraculously they didn't take my purse or phone that was right on the desk. As soon as they were gone I hit our silent alarm and called the cops. Now, I'm still hesitant about going back to night shifts eventhough all the criminals have been caught. Not only hesitant but I have some anxiety about it. And thanks to all that, little things scare the crap out of me that used to not to. For example whenever my youngest comes into the bedroom at night and I'm not expecting it or he gets up and is in the hallway and I dont see him, my heart jumps a mile out of my chest and I want to scream.
Well, I had to write about this just to make myself feel a little better. If anyone has any advice, I'm open to any.
