Breastfeeding & birth control?

If you have or are breastfeeding & took birth control, what method of birth control did you use? Is there one particular one that women take? Are any of them harmful? Did you switch birth controls after stopping breastfeeding?

I'm curious because my daughter is due via c-section on October 5th and I will be breastfeeding. I want to get on birth control as well to prevent pregnancy for a few years. Thanks!
