Last Wednesday my oldest daughter celebrated her 16th birthday!!!!!! It's hard to believe that I am now the mother of a child that can officially get her drivers license! What one earth happened??

It seems like only yesterday she was potty training and playing with dolls. Now she is learning to drive. (I am in no rush for her to get her license.) And now instead of playing with dolls she is playing with her hair and make-up and different fashions. Everyday is literally a fashion show! She now never wants to be home when all she did was want to be home when she was younger.

To my DD I am boring and no fun because I enjoy being home and I greatly enjoy quiet time!  She wants to go go go all of the time! Oh how it was to be young! I do remember those days! Though my lovely DD does not seem to think that I can remember that far back! LOL. I know I am getting older but I have not lost my long term memory.......yet!

At 16 she can't seem to understand why we set rules for her. I only hope and pray that she will learn to appreciate the boundaries we set for her.......at least when she's older.  I know that sometimes to kids that it seems hard and confusing to know why we as parents set rule for them.

Why is it that our children can't stay young for just a little bit longer, so we can hold on to that sweet little child they used to be just a moment longer?....They grow up so fast!
