In the past month there has been a lot in the news about tolerance, forgiveness, and rights. Understand that I do not hate anyone I get angry and defensive but do not hate. I also read between the lines which many people don't seem to do anymore. The following is how I see things. Okay this Ground Zero Mosque is not about peace, healing, or tolerance. If it was truly about any of those things Imam Rauf would see the pain that it is causing and would be willing to move it elsewhere. I have no problem with a mosque anywhere else in our country except for the Ground Zero Neighborhood, the Pentagon, and the Pennsylvania field where the hijacked plane went down. This is not going to promote healing as we have seen. It is only going to promote anger and hate.
My opinion as to why they are putting the Mosque there. If we remember our history going back to the beginning of mankind there have been attacks and wars. In the days of old one group of people would go and attack another group of people. The names of the groups of people are not important because throughout history pretty much everyone has been the attacker or the attackee at some point. Once there was a successful attack the invading army would take over the land for themselves killing all non converts or turning them into slaves. Once this had been done the invading army would plant their flag and the land would then belong to them. The muslim extremists came and attacked us and they have infiltrated our country hiding among peace loving muslims to the point you don't know who to trust and who not to. This Mosque is symbolic of the extremist flag. They are building to let us know that they think they have won the battle and that our country is now thiers. If this Mosque is built they will have won the current battle.
If this Mosque was truly about peace, tolerance, and healing the Imam would be willing to change the location. He sees the pain that the Mosque is causing and the fighting, all things against what he proposes the Mosque for. He is unwilling to even consider moving it. I realize that in the name of religous freedom they have a right to build the Mosque where it is proposed but it is not helpful or ethical to build it there. Half the Muslim religion is a peace loving people the other half are filled with hatred for any non Muslim people. The peaceful Muslims should understand why this is such a sensitive issue as the Twin Towers were taken down by radical Muslims. They should be sensitive to the needs of the country and not rip open our scars.
