I have been sick for over 2 months now. I had laryngitis, I thought a bronchial infection and an ear infection. Went to the dr and she said it was an upper respiratory infection and an ear infections....bought antibiotics. Well, almost $300.00 later I am still sick! I am on my 4th antibiotic. Finally went in for a sinus xray and a chest xray and find that I have a deviated septum, sinusitis, and a viral infection in my chest. I also have asthma so this makes it worse. The humidity here has been over 90%, which makes my asthma worse. It is hard to breathe. I am on Advair, Singulair, an emergency inhaler, and a nebulizer with Albuteral (plus the antibiotic). I do the nebulizer at least 4x a day! I have been getting pretty depressed because it feels like I will never get better and never be able to walk outside to my van without having a hard time breathing. I SO badly want to start exercising again to lose some weight but I can't because of my problem breathing right now. I go to an Ear Nose and Throat specialist on Friday. I am hoping he can help me, my dr told me that until my sinusitis and deviated septum were corrected they couldn't do anything about the viral infection because the sinusitis is feeding the infection. I am praying I do not have to do the surgery for the deviated septum because I hear it is extremely painful. Plus I mainly breathe out of my nose so sleeping will be hard with my nose plugged up.

This is a rant...sorry. I am just sick of being sick!!

I'm sorry. I hope the ENT will be able to help. The surgery you might need isn't "too bad"...once done you do have pain and swelling but it is well controlled with pain meds, you'll have packing in for about a week...but, you can breathe through your  mouth (some pain and a week of packing is worth being able to breathe well and to not be getting infections all the time, you know?)! Good Luck with the Doc!

I went to the ENT... my deviated septum is not bad enough for the surgery. He has me on another antibiotic for the sinus infection, a nose spray and told me to take Mucinex. He also wants me to go do allergy testing. If I am not better in 20 days (LONG TIME) then he wants to see me again and we will try something else.

I have tried the sinucleanse stuff, it has worked before but this has gone on so long I guess it is too bad for the stuff to work this time. I was having dizzy spells for a little bit there because my sinuses were so compacted and the dr didnt know why ...I am the one that figured out it was my sinuses! I bought the sinu cleanse stuff and used it and the dizziness was gone! Thank God!
