With God all things are possible

Our 2 cats used to love being outside at night.  They mostly stayed inside our fence or in the garage with the boys while they play video games in their "man cave."

But one of our cats, a little yellow tabby, named Buddy, started walking on only 3 feet a few days ago.  I checked his foot, and there was a small cut, but it was dark red, swollen, and very tender to touch.  And his whole leg was swollen to more than twice its size!

We took him to the vet the next day, and he had a temperature of 105!  That foot was badly infected!  Normal for cats is 101, but that's still a LOT!

The vet said that, by the placement of the cut on his back foot, it looks like he was running away from another tom cat, who bit him.  He said that cats have a certain bacteria on their teeth which takes exactly 3 days to fester up into a dangerous infection!  He sees this a lot.

So, no matter how much Buddy yowls at me tonight, I am not letting him outside any more!  He and his brother can just play inside from now on--unless we get a harness and a retractable leash for him!

Please, Moms of cat furbabies, do not let your cats play outside!
