I am a member of many groups on Cafemom. I have nice friends in many of these groups that I am very grateful for and look forward to talking to often. One of these groups have become a special place for me to go.
That group would be "Sisters In Spirit". It is a Christian group of wonderful woman full of love for God, Jesus, and each other.
This group of woman have been so good for me! I am so grateful to God for guiding me here. At "Sisters in Spirit" I have been able to find wonderful fellowship and so very much more.
This group has given me the tools to be a better person and more importantly a better Christian. I make it my duty to try every day to spend time in the prayer request and praise forum to see the needs of God's other children and to see the blessings they have been given. This time I spend everyday praying for my friends helps me to have a much closer relationship with my Father. I have never prayed for people so much in my life and never really appreciated the concept before; even after going to prayer meetings many Wednesdays at Church! There's just something about sitting in your quiet house and reading the needs and taking them to our Father that is special. If you haven't tried this, I would suggest it highly!
Another activity I enjoy so much is the Bible Study section. Right now we are going through the entire Bible. We just started this endeavor and are in Genesis. I have never learned more. I am having so much fun going through every verse with these wonderful women. Many of the ladies are much more knowlegable than me and can explain things I don't understand. It is fun learning from each other and I think it pleases God to see that we have the desire to learn and be close to Him. There are other Bible studies that are going on too. I love them all.
I have never felt judged in this group, only loved. I have not found that there is someone in this group who is "controlling". There is no "man bashing" here! I know that is funny, but that was an important issue for me. I love my husband and want to be around women who appreciate the men in their lives. Jesus was, after all, a man! There are disagreements but I have never seen them get out of control, and mostly see them being handled in a loving manner.
All in all, this is the first group I go to everyday, and if I were to set up my own group, it would be very similar to this one. I look forward to growing friendships here with the woman in the group and with my Father in Heaven.
