I am typing this on a flat, regular keyboard; the kind I used to get up to 50 words a minute on. Now, my fingers are tripping, and my wrists are screaming that they can't hold onto the backs of my fingers for one more moment.

My ergonomic keyboard is hooked up to the hospital bed of a desk that is my husbands diagnostic lab, where my stricken computer lays in a coma.

Tomorrow, I have to go and buy a new brain for my computer, and hopefully, my husband will be able to install a new operating system on it, and hook up my sadly un-backed-up system as a slave (what a sad fate for such a good computer...there are so many good times stored in it's bits...pictures of our vacations, my writing, my email, my LIFE....) and then copy the data on it.

When I clicked on it, I knew...has this ever happened to you?

Well, I have tried harder not to do those things since my dh made me quit playing Scrabble on facebook due to a virus.  UGH.  I miss it.

I am so sorry for your computer loss.

I have a Mac. I'll try not to sound overly virtuous over here.

LOL Mz Mac! Yeah, I do bow to the superiority of the Apple.

Thanks Tonya - hopefully the recovery will go smoothly - it only set me back $160, so I guess I am lucky (and WILL backup faithfully, I Mean It...)

So the new drive is now acting weird...it goes through it's startup, and then says "preparing to hibernate" and then shuts down, only to turn on and say the same thing...
