Well Tuesday I got my tubes tied and I am only twenty four years old and I decided to get my tubes tied when I was twenty one. The reason why I got my tubes tied is because I am a type two diabetic and it was a hard time going through my pregnancy with my daughter. I was in and out of the hospital my whole pregnancy, one time my doctor actually wanted me to stay in there for six weeks and that was just about before I had my daughter. The hospital ran every test to make sure that she was ok and it was a constint worry of mine that she wasnt and that I would end up loosing her which I didnt want to happen....So when I had her at the age of 21 I wanted to get my tubes tied then right after I had her but the doctor wouldnt touch me becuase I wasnt 25 and I didnt have two kids. So know after the whole ordeal with the hospital and my pregnancy I was thinking about it for about 2 years now. And so last month I decided that it was the right thing for me to do since I am a diabetic. And I still feel like I did the right thing by getting my tubes tied.

you made a decision that will ensure your safety and making sure your daughter has a healthy mama. Nothing wrong at all with that. Just like when I decided to have gastric bypass, was thinking about my future with my family. Do I want to be around and watch them get older? Do I want to be a "walking pharmacy"?

Why did the hospital give you such a hard time about it? I mean it is YOUR decision and body and you know what your body can and cannot handle...Im surprised that your Dr. didnt see it from your prospective after your daughter.

I know I dont know you, but you did the right thing. If you want anymore children, you can always adopt, or I have a couple you can borrow...=)

You did what you felt was right. :-) That's all that matters.

I think you did the right thing. I had gestational diabetes as does my daughter in law. I had huge babies with very little weight gain. It was a nightmare. So good for you for taking care of your own health.

Thank you all for your encourgaging words. The doctor that I seen now didnt have a problem tying my tubes but the specialist I had to see didnt want me to get my tubes tied because I was too young but she was also like you shouldnt have anymore babies but Im not going to touch you until your older...So I waited two years to make sure that I was making the right choice for me and my family and I did. Also I can always adopt or be a foster parent... so I am not completely out of the game yet.

I have 3 daughters and I'm planning to get my tubes tied.  I just turned 25 on May 15 and they gave me the okay to get it done.  Now all I have to do is make the appointment and it'll happen.  I kinda want to try for a little boy but since I'm not financially stable and three is already alot I think that I'm making the right choice.  Right now I just want to enjoy the three that I have and do everything that I have set on pause while having children.  I do have a question though.  How long was you sore for after the operation?  Can you come on my page to let me know?  I really appreciate it.
