• In the Spotlight:

Dylan kept having tantrums at school so it was decided that an IEP was needed. We talked about a lot of things. Everyone in the meeting you could tell just by looking at them that they adore Dylan, even when he's in the middle of tantrum. We talked about the possibility of ODD, ASD and a few other options. I'm so happy that I now have the whole school behind us. They gave me a copy of his new IEP to take with us to the psychiatrist.

He's being moved to a different class. It has a lot more structure and he has to earn privileges. They run the class on a token system and focus first on behavior and then on lessons. A few kids from his class last year are in the class and they have recess at the same time as his current class so he'll still be able to see his "friends". He starts his new class on monday. Today their going to take him to his new class so that he can meet the teacher and his new classmates.

We talked to him yesterday about the change in classrooms. He seems fine about it now but I know it's going to be a long week next week.

All in all it was a good meeting.
