• In the Spotlight:

Well, this in not 100% true.  My son was 11 months old when my father died.  But needless to say, he does not remember Poppy Wilbur.  And my mother ~ Grandma Nancy ~ passed away almost 13 years ago.

My son is now 7-1/2 and my daughter is 5.  They often talk about my parents and how they wish they would have been able to meet them and that they really miss them.  As if that alone weren't enough to make me happy and sad all at the same time, my daughter tells me today that when she grows up she wants to be a singer and be just like Grandma Nancy!  Considering they never got to meet, I was all but in tears!

Although I miss my parents every day and so wish they could have been here for not only my kids, but my brothers also, I am so very happy that they know so much about them and talk about them so often.

I know it is hard to lose someone close to you and you feel like the pain will never go away.  But, always remember to hold on to the memories and share them often.  Although my kids never got to actually meet my parents, I know that there is a part of them inside that they will always remember!
