I am trying to loos weight to get healthy for me and my kids so im going to keep a journal on my progress every day. When I woke up this morning and weighed in I was 284.6 1 month ago I was 300.0 lbs so I would love to have any tips or advice anyone can give. My goal is 145lbs.

i would try to have fun!!!!!!!!! weird advice huh? i used to just dance around to my favorite songs, or exercise to my favorite music. and wow anything with a fast beat got me really going, and it made me really happy afterwards.. just all the endorphins flowing from the music and the exercise! :) i lost 20lbs just from cutting out all drinks that weren't water... i was also obsessed with juice at the time.... so i started diluting everything i drank until it was just water. ohhh yummy soups are less fat. definitely no burgers! cutting out beef also helps because that meat is just so high fat. and then slowly add in more fruits.... i was eating a lot of junk food.... but then, i switched to my favorite fruits instead and consumed A LOT of them! and it made me just as happy as the junk food did! i love pears, and watermelons, sometimes grapes, and apples! soo..... i guess my key advice is to choose something healthy, that is less calories, but still makes u happy eating it! :) good luck!


(yes it is about a lifestyle change, but that doesn't mean it have to change into a sucky lifestyle... find things you love! :) I HATE SALAD!!!!!!!)

I was at 298 at the start of this year, I just started thinking if only I could get rid of 5 pds. I did then started thinking about another 5 pds, now I am down 42 pds. I know I have a long way to go but 5 pds at a time is all I am going to think about and it has worked for me. I too have danced in the kitchen I agree it makes me feel great! ( the kids think I am a little crazy but thats okay!) I told them not to make to much fun of me because I could start dancing when their friends come over. I hope this helps.

Key word here hun is, consistency, and you will  achieve your goal. You are doing great! keep up the good work, it is a slow process but this way it stays off for good, way to go girl!

I'm going to add my 2 cents too! :)  Having fun is the right way to do it.  I found out that I feel healthier when I eat fruit instead of chocolate and I have fewer headaches.  I also eat fish about 3 times a week.  I stopped eating ANYTHING fried or breaded and I found a salad and salad dressing I like.  The key is don't force yourself to change overnight.  Find things you LOVE that are healthy and remind yourself how crappy you feel when you eat something. 

I have a problem with certain diets so I had to do a Life Change instead.  lol.  I started eating better BEFORE I started working out and exercising because of my work.... which probably explains why I only lost 10 pounds...  :)  I hit 10 pounds down and found out I was pregnant again but... I am still eating healthy and my weight gain is healthy, so I'm good! :)   Best of luck to you!
