It's 30 min. before dinnertime. After probably having asked for cookies and chocolate a thousand times, my daughter (3) sat down on the table to draw. My husband was working on the computer. From the kitchen, where I as washing the dishes, I could overhear a conversation that went a little like this:

dd: Pop?

dh: Ya?

dd: Do you like some chocolate cake?

dh: Yes, I do. It's tasty.

dd: Would you like some?

dh: Yes.

dd: But you can't have it.  .... .... ....  Nah-nah nah nah-nah!

(silence for a few minutes)

dd: Pop?

dh: Hmmmm?

dd: Are you sad now?

dh: No, why?

dd: Because you can't have chocolate cake. ... You feel bad then, yes?

dh: Hmmmmm ...

dd: MOM! (And she comes to the kitchen.) We have to get chocolate cake. Papa is not well. Cake makes him feel good!

Hahahaha! we were laughing our heads off!
