Saw my midwife today, things are going good.

Blood pressure normal, protiens and glucose is still normal in urine.... I tested positive again for GBS, so I will need another dose or two of antibiotics during labor when it starts. :(

She checked my cervix, and I could be easily dilated to a 3... so things are heading in the right direction.

Baby's still breech, so we'll be trying to get her out for sure after next wednesday while she's small enough to fit with reduced risk...

She's having me take some natural pathic herbs this week every other day to help get the contractions to cause changes and help encourage labor to start... after next week, we'll do more hardcore herbs and strip my membranes and try to get labor going....

Abbie wants to come out breech, the midwife is fine with it, were fine with it... I have a good feeling everything is going to work out okay....

I was a little surprised that she got me to dilate that far so easily... but I guess I shouldn't be surprised after all the fight with pre-term labor. LOL

my birth kit is here... the only thing we are missing are floor heaters since the heaters are broken in the back of the house where the Master bedroom and bathroom is.... and a video camera.

I am now past 36 weeks and can officially safely go into labor at any point and have my home birth!

I am very excited, and finally feeling that "whew" feeling that everything is going to be okay and work out and baby and I are going to be fine... I really think I'll avoid my c-section at this point, and I think baby and I are going to do amazing during our home birth!

It just amazes me that not long ago you were bed-bound in the hospital trying to stop contractions, and here you are now trying to get them going again!  lol  I am so glad that Abbie stayed in for a full 36 weeks.  Now good luck getting her to come out!!!  :)

that is fabulous news!!!

very excited for your homebirth, and can't wait to hear all about it :-)

if we lived in a larger city, I would be totally down with the homebirth but here the closest midwives are about 2 hours away, so it just isn't pheasible... plus, if anything were to go wrong our house is 45 min from the closest hospital....

keep us updated!!

*btw, are you planning water birth by any chance? just curious, I have often wondered about how great that would be

We live 5 minutes from the hospital, and the midwife is 15 minutes from our house.

I have 2 person jetted tub, so I may labor in the tub for a bit, but with a breech delivery, I most likely will have to deliver on the bed or on the edge of the tub so I can be angled a specific way to make it safer for the baby to come out to reduce risks of head entrapment and other issues....

well that makes sense, lol I wasn't even thinking about her being breech still....

I think the jetted tub sounds like a fabulous idea for labor though :-)
