I spent a career in Army intelligence and, especially in the beginning, never had more fun, made better friends,or felt prouder of my choices.Word of advice:don't volunteer for anything! They have a way of making the shittiest chores sound like so much fun until they get their volunteers and THEN they tell you what you just got yourself into! lol I'm proud of you.Enjoy every moment, and learn all you can,and remember, basic training will be rough but short.Don't quit!

Good luck to you!!!! ! I also was in Army Intelligence, stationed in West Berlin, Germany as a Russian Voice Intercept Operator while the wall was still up.  In Berlin-1974-1976...

I got to see a good part of Europe, went to college later with the help of the GI Bill.

You will have a great opportunity as a Food Service Specialist....keeping our men and women healthy and happy through your work!!!!  The Army can be tough at times....but an excellent endeavor....Congratulations!!!!!!
