The Mask

I sit alone in darkness,

As night time swallows me.

An empty corridor,

Of faded memory.

The whispers of the wind,

I hear them in my mind.

A gateway to tranquility,

Where fate is all too kind.

It wears a soul expression,

A mask, you know the one.

The one that comes to haunt you,

When all is said and done

Let us take a walk, you and I,

Through the pages of the mind.

And let us talk of fear, you and I,

Who knows what we may find.

For in the mind, that's where it is,

Things that could destroy us all.

Even if you brace yourself...

Your destiny will call.
