The origin of the name Raven is English.

Alternate spellings: Raviyn, Ravyn, Raevyn.

The meaning of the name Raven is Blackbird.

So DH & I were upstairs the other night folding laundry talking about baby names for whenever we are able to conceive #2 and have it "stick".  We already have our boy name, Landon Walter, but we got into a discussion over girl names and he was toying with the idea of Haven but couldn't decide if it was gendered toward boy or girl more so as I was standing there folding the laundry he stops dead in his tracks and looks at me to say, "If we have a girl, what about Raven?"   I like it, it's very unqiue & pretty. I also know a lot of people do not have this name but I'm not sure what to even put with it!  I've asked around about the name and for some reason a lot of people think its horrible? So I searched it online and found the meaning & origin (see above!), apparently its English which surprises me cause it sounds more like something Native American, right?

Well I am stuck on Lula Mae and Nora Marilyn, Nora Marilyn a fellow cafemom member gave me the idea and Lula Mae ( yes I know, yuck) was my great grandmother's name and we were very close, I figured it was a great way to honor her passing and memory by naming a granddaughter after her :)   I just need help figuring why people think the name Raven is so bad?  Yes I know the show "That's So Raven" is a reason I was given, not to name our daughter if we have one in the future.  What do you ladies think? Am I crazy?
