Yesterday I took my son B to my dear friend Staci's to carve pumpkins. I tried to explain I had "pumpkin issues". Now you never realize how crazy and nuts your family is til you try to explain or describe them to another person. I know, I have tried several times to do this and I get weird looks. So as I was holding my head out her kitchen door trying to not lose my lunch, I tried to explain,"Pumpkin issues". I don't think she believed me  tile I think B mentioned this is the second or third time in his life he has been able to participate in the yearly tradition of "carving jack o' lanterns"(poor kid!)! Lemme try to explain.....

A long, long, looooooooooooooong time ago(I'm pretty old ok?) when I was 7 years old; my mama was in the hospital, my half brother was "babysitting me". Now let me tell you something about this brother here. He LOVED to torture me in any way shape, form possible! Considering he was 11 years my senior, he got away with it!Well.....I was upset because my mom was in the hospital and couldn't carve "my pumpkin" I picked out of the patch all by myself(I was proud, yo!). My half brother said,"Well, I'll help you!"I was leary about this. He has never once in my short 7 years EVER offered to do ANYTHING nice for me!!!So I decided to push down the gut feeling he was "up to something" and go with the flow. We had a blast! We laughed, we talked, we scooped nasty pumpkin "guts" and flung them at each otehr giggling the whole time. After we had finished out "master piece", my half brother mentioned,"Hey sis! You know you can eat the mouth, nose and eye pieces JUST LIKE WATERMELON!!! Now I know how much you LOVE watermelon!!!""I don't know Bobby. Every time you have an "idea, I either get hurt(BADLY) or in trouble!""No, no sis! We bonded! I love you! Why I never realized how "groovy" you were(Please keep in mind that was the "hip thang" to say "back in the day"!!!). Why I have a new found respect and admiration for you!""Well, ok..."So I ate. It wasn't too bad. I offered him some pieces but he declined saying he wasn't very fond of "pumpkin pieces and bits".About 3:00 am my tummy was doing flips! I had gotten sooooo sick! My half brother was standing at the bathroom door laughing!!!I was so sick the next day, I couldn't go trick-or-treating.And til this day, I have "pumpkin issues". Even the slight scent or "consistency" in foods(think cantaloupe and honey dew melon) makes me physically ill to my stomach!!!

Ya, parents went on vacation and he was supposed to mow the lawn and take out the trash and take care of me. I had just gotten my tonsils out(I was 16) and he gave me $50 to do it for him and of course I didn't and he got yelled at! bwahahahaha!!!
