My heart beats for the lull of the ocean,

the smoke of a midnight bonfire,

        of longer days.

Summer fades away like the dawn,

     leaving color in its place,

          foreign to the warmth.

The blues and greens of summer gone,

the cool breath of autumn caresses me,

as the sand lies cold beneath my feet.
