I went to dennys.... I was hungry!

Thats right, in the middle of active labor, 6 centimeters dilated, I was craving a Belgium waffle. I've been so hungry since yesterday, eating non stop, and I wanted breakfast. LOL

You should have seen the expression on the waitresses face when she asked me what was wrong and my friend laughed and said "nothing, she's just in the middle of labor."

Then, I said "Yep! 6cm dilated, so please hurry with our meal, i'd like to eat and get back home!"

hehehe!

I asked me midwife if I was safe to go out if I wanted to get food if I didn't feel like cooking and she said "i've never had a mom in active labor do that before, but I don't see why not." LOL

So, we went early, and my contractions started picking up with the snow.

the snow is so beautiful, and its icy and very dangerous out there. Abbie likes the snow, and I honestly feel like going out there and dancing in it while i'm in labor. It's so white and beautiful.

We got home and my midwife will be back at 2pm to check my progress and do another dose of antibiotics,. the roads are soooo bad I think i'm going to ask her to stay... I don't want to risk us getting snowed in and her not being here!

Jake's on his way home and we luckily have plenty of food to last a few people if needed.... I'm concerned about my son's school bus on the icey roads, but they have chains... or at least, I hope they have chains....

My back labor is intensifying, but I don't think I need the midwife yet, I think I can wait until 2pm (at this moment, that remains to be seen though... it is starting to hurt because my back is pretty sore now, but its not unbearable.)

I keep thinking to my body, Please dilate at least 2 cm by 2pmish... 1 is okay, but 2 is preferred. LOL (2 would put me at 8 and in transition.)

at 7 cm my midwife won't leave, but even if I'm not a full cm dilated further, this weather is too dangerous to risk her leaving. It's too icy, too snowy, and no one in seattle knows how to drive in the snow and ice like this.

i'm not willing to risk her getting into an accident, or not making it because of accidents, or traffic, or us getting snowed in. it's supposed to keep accumulating and get worse... were supposed to have a full blown snow storm according to the newest weather reports.

I love the snow, this is the perfect day for me to have abbie.... it just feels right.

Yay for Dennys!! I'm glad you're listening to your body and I'm glad your midwife told you it was okay to go out and get something to eat!
