Well-behaved women

rarely make history.

Snazzy title, eh? I've never been good at reeling people in like the more seasoned writers/bloggers/supermoms. ;)

So I'm on Day 3 of Not-Eating-In-Front-of-the-TV. Or, well...Joss isn't eating in front of the TV, which is just as well. I try to eat my meals with her as much as possible, but she's such a damn slow, picky eater that I would never leave the table unless I hurried her along once in awhile.

First, I've noticed how nice the floor looks when it's swept and free of clutter.

(Yes, I realize that I am not perfect.)

(Like our extensive DVD collection? 3/4 of it is Randy's but still. I have a nice little collection of my own that's full of fantasy movies, musicals, chick flicks, and 80's classics.)

(Yes, I realize those picture on the wall are crooked. Come fix them for me if it bothers you that much.)

It's much easier to pick up a mess right after it happens when the floor is kept clean. Randy put Joss in front of the TV this morning ("I was getting ready for work and didn't have time to watch her eat!") and she threw a bunch of Cheerios on the floor. Of course when I got home from school I was all D-:< but whatever. I picked them up and threw them away. No big deal. When Joss went to take a nap today I swept the floor and vaccuumed up the...uhhh...swept floor contents? I don't know what to call it.

It's nice. It's calming. I moved most of Joss's bigger, noisier toys to her room so there won't be as much to clean up in here at the end of the day.

I just kind of wish we could put some COLOR in this living room. Yeesh! A red throw pillow, anything. Randy's such a man. If I ever want anything colorful I have to buy it myself. Bleeh bleh bleh. Manly mancave. Of course, I'm the one who has to see it day in and day out.

Now if I could only get the kitchen and bathroom straightened out...
