my labor actually complete stopped for 24 hours... so I took some advice from my midwife to figure out what was causing me emotional distress, and as soon as I figured it out and talked to my husband and some friends about it, my contractions started up again.

It looks like i'm back to early labor stages, i'm having contractions again with sharp cramping and pulsing down in my vagina, but i'm being more cautious before having my midwife come out and do anything since I regressed from 6cm back to 4 and I want to make sure I don't waste her time at this point.

I want to make 100% sure these won't stop or take a break before I call her this time.... I had 24 hours of contractions 3 minutes apart and only dilated 2cm, then regressed back to 4 when the snow storm hit and my friends were harassing me about taking to long to have the baby.

Also, I figured out that having people here expecting me to perform for them stressed me out enough to slow my contractions and labor down.... along with the snow storm. once the snow started to melt and the weather said by thanksgiving the roads would be clear again...

my body seemed to say "okay, well lets get back into the swing of things."

This time around, when I call my midwife and we are 99% sure its progressive active labor, no one else will be invited to the birth after that little fiasco and drama.

I figured out the reason I got so stressed was because everytime I went to a dark corner to deal with contractions someone would hunt me down and pester me... my husband was really the only one who understand that i'd come to him when I was ready and couldn't cope with contractions on my own anymore....

as soon as I kicked everyone out of my house, got a really good sleep, and worked through a few of these emotional issues.... they started back up again this afternoon.... I'm not "assuming" anything this time, because apparently I can have contractions that change my cervix and can still stop and apparently can go backwards if stressed out.

My midwife has seen this a few times with other homebirths when things were stressful, so she told me to figure out what was bothering me and work on it and de-stress and find my "peaceful happy place" again.

So, I am working on that.

I've been sort of avoiding my PC while I work on my emotional state, and taking long naps.... to get my strength back up.

I'll be back around after thanksgiving. where having it at our house this year due to the baby stuff... (though its just my grandparents and a couple of friends who didn't have plans.)

Thanks for all the support everyone, after spending today getting my head on straight, i'm in a much better emotional place than I was this morning/last night!

I'm glad to know!  We were all concerned for you in the due date group since we hadn't seen any updates in a while.

kicking anyone who's not needed out of the house was a good idea.  My in laws came a week before I had my daughter and I thought she'd never come because they were stressing me out so bad.

I hope everything goes well!! I'm glad you've been able to rest. I can't imagine trying to go through labor and give birth with a house full of people....that must have been stressful. Good Luck!!! And...
